Based on my experience about 60 hours in, you would need to explicitly choose to be gay to see really any gay romance in this game. Seems like this guy's version of having gay propaganda shoved down your throat is simply the presence of the choice to be gay

i fucked like all my companions and then cut it down to minthara and astarion when they got too needy (problematic evil lady in skin tight black armor, and sassy gay vampire boy)

There is no limit to what you can do really. It's up to the DM to build narrative around your decisions. If there is some character you want to try and bang, you can try to bang them. It is pretty much a rite of passage in any DnD game that someone has sex whilst all the other players sit around and sremoved at them laying on the moves. Lol at the auto-filter removing one of my words. That isn't a bad word you fools!

Play D&D long enough and you'll inevitably have a campaign that features some level of erotic roleplay, usually in orgy form.

You'll also learn why good DMs tend to just fade-to-black that sort of thing, because unless everyone playing is really into that sort of thing it's going to get cringey very quickly.

good news it that a lot of people run pick up groups online! my former DM had recruited from discord, reddit, facebook, all over the place. but like with any gaming hobby there are super cringe people out there so it might take time and effort to find a group you like. my advice if you wanna try is to just take it slow and if anyone crosses your boundaries just peace out, there are plenty of folks out there who want to make their tables inviting to everyone.

it's infinitely better at an actual table of course, but online is still fun.

I'm really into that sort of thing and i still only want to play these parts via DMs with the few players i can comfortably do this with.

To be clear, I'm also really into that sort of thing, and I absolutely would never do it sitting at a table or over a Zoom call or whatever with a group. If you were running a campaign with your polycule, sure, go nuts, but otherwise it's just squick all around.

Reminds me of the reactionary outrage around the Sims 4 gender options. All the fine-tuning gender settings are hidden in another menu past the basic male/female toggle, but that didn't stop chuds from clicking on it and getting mad because they saw a bunch of completely optional settings for different kinds of gender expression.
