Rabbis don't perform those tho that's what a mohel does!
Those are not mutually exclusive things and quite often the mohel doing the circumcision is a rabbi.
They did my circumcision when I was 4 years old and fully awake, I remember the entire day perfectly and the exact type of pain and the doctor doing it saying "if you cry I'll remove it entirely".
