The Irish were victims of a genocide at the hands of British politicians and capitalists in the 1800s, and this genocide forced millions of refugees to flee to America. Furthermore, tens of thousands of Irish were arrested and deported to the prison colony of Australia in the 1800s for crimes such as petty theft, prostitution, and fraud.       If you talk about the Irish Diaspora, most Irish people arn't gonna think about Joe American whose great great grandfather came over in 18-whatever. They're gonna think of the millions of 1st and 2nd gen immigrants who are Irish by nationality, not ethnicity.
