Oh damn, I would've guessed pronouns or just not being a massive homophobic shitbag, but I forgot that conservatives like to pretend it's illegal to be Christian at Christmas for some reason.

Ah yeah the chud fever dream of being persecuted Christians in a country...celebrating...a Christian holiday...and explicitly mentioning Jesus and having things like nativity scenes and Christmas eve mass. But yeah man, total persecuted minority huh

its so funny to me that the whole war on christmas is just made up bs by chuds to justify their fears of being persecuted for being christians

It's like watching the popular kid put up some fake crying that he's being bullied by the nerd solely to mess with the nerd's head, literally leveraging the social capital he knows he has on the least popular kid just because he can.

I swear, nothing brings out my inner Sam Harris quite like fascists.

The American Christian persecution complex is easily the piece of chud psychology that pisses me off the most.

Having cultural hegemony isn't enough. They have to PRETEND to be victims while victimizing others. Absolutely abhorrent

Jesús fucking Christ man. Why are conservatives this stupid? Nobody gives a shit if you’re Christian, they’re making shit up.

I think the American strain of this in particular is because the right wing needed something to organize around after the Soviet Union fell, and figured out that it didn't have to be real for them to organize around it.

I mean I was born a year after the SU fell, but like… were Christian’s not like this 35+ years ago? I find that hard to believe. Like wasn’t the satanic panic in the 70’s?

                Satanic Panic was 90s.

I mean, it's not that there weren't elements of this stuff before, it just wasn't the massive animating force it is today.

For my money it's the Louisianan public schools requiring the 10 commandments be shown in the classroom.

And if you actually knew me well you'd know how Christians appropriated a pagan celebration - Jesus was not in the story of the first Christmas

I'm also fairly confident that they still make Christian Christmas slop
