Good thing everyone is still masking, we won't have to worry about another pandemic /s
The USA has been feeding poultry litter to cattle, and hasn't stopped even after massive outbreaks of bird flu among cattle that has repeatedly sickened farm workers.
i keep reading comments referring to this, but am not familar with this subject."fed bird doodoo to the cows"could you please send a link or give a term i can throw in the search engine to look this up?https://www.huffpost.com/entry/mad-cow-disease-california_b_1450994 Chicken droppings being fed to cows spreading disease, cow parts peiplefed to other animals, cycle repeats

https://www.poultryproducer.com/ground-up-chicken-waste-fed-to-cattle-may-be-behind-bird-flu-outbreak-in-us-cows/ “In the US, the feeding of poultry litter to beef cows is a known factor in the cause of botulism in cattle, and is a risk in the case of H5N1,” "Although the presence of H5N1 in US cattle herds increases the risk of the virus getting into humans via farm workers, it is the spread of the virus to pig farms that presents the bigger threat.
This is because pigs have receptors on some cells that are similar to humans, making it much more likely that the virus could mutate and jump to humans if pig farms become infected." Have not been able to find numbers on chicken droppings being fed to other livestock
"Poultry litter is not only cheaper than other food sources like soy and grains but is also more calorie-dense, meaning farmers can bulk up their herds much more quickly." So farmers are using chicken droppings as it is cheaper to buy than using actual food for animals "“So you get a sense that there’s nothing unprecedented about the number of human cases we’re seeing – but we have to watch the virus. We have to watch the epidemiology, to see if it’s changing in some way,” said Dr Mott." :clueless:
They are feeding chicken shit to cows, because it is more “calorie dense”
It’s still shit though, no? Like literal shit
Edit: it’s actually worse than just feeding the cows shit. They literally just take all the chicken litter that accumulates bedding and leftover food compost feathers and dead chicken parts and mix it all up lol
So I looked it up Canada and Europe banned this because of potential to spread disease lol

Notice the wording on that. It isn't "1% of cattle eat chicken poo" it's "1% of the total amount of chicken poo is fed to cows." They don't mention the amount of cows actually eating it, and this is a survey, so 1% is almost certainly a very low estimate, as there's no reason to think others would just lie about it.
And if you've ever kept chickens before, you'll know how much they love pooping, so even 1% is still a huge number.
There have been tons of articles like these, I’m sure we’re fine
The next co-worker I see coming into work while sick is getting force-fed hand sanitizer.
Looks like masks are back on the menu!
(They never should have been taken off the menu to begin with)
There will be summary executions for wearing a mask by this time next year
I'm honestly curious if this will be the final end to healthcare in the US, because all the healthcare workers I know aren't going through another Covid. Hell I'll go back to my parents and work gig delivery before working in another fucking pandemic.
