I was riding my bike home just now when a group of kids lobbed a big chunk of snow at me when I passed them on the street before running away and cackling.

Not to sound like yells-at-cloud but when I was a kid me and my friends wouldn't have dared to mess with random adults like that

I'm blaming those damn tiktoks

We must have grown up in very different places because I feel like kids have been throwing snowballs at strangers for centuries at least

When I was a kid, we were psychotic and threw snowballs at passing cars. Until we got caught by an adult and were told to stop it, then we started a snowball fight with rocks in the snowballs.

No, I wasn't exposed to lead as a child.

i grew up in nashville where we didn't get much snow. we would just have rock fights. we went to the playground (covered in rocks instead of mulch) and would just grab handfulls and throw them at each other. somehow no one ever really got injured.

There was a kid who lived down the street that had to write an apology letter to my mom and several other people for shooting their windshields with a paintball gun.

That reminds me of this story from years back:

One time, I was walking down the street minding my own business. These chuds started throwing snowballs at me from a distant rooftop. You can imagine their surprise when I not only picked up a snowball and returned fire… but I also managed to hit one of them square in the face from what they probably thought was an impossible distance (I was at the bottom of a hill and they were on a rooftop up the hill from me). It was a lucky throw but I walked away feeling like such a badass.

Obviously, this probably sounds like a fake story where everyone clapped at the end but I swear on the ghost of Stalin that it’s 100% true. You gotta believe me! I have an absolute cannon for an arm.

Thank you for reading my anecdote.

I threw dozens of the little round smokebomb fireworks into the beds of passing pickup trucks and then hid in the bushes with my other feckless little shithead friends, thirty years ago

That kind of stuff happened all the time when I was a kid 30+ years ago. Kids feel invulnerable because adults can't get away with assaulting you just because you were an asshole.

We used to buy a large slurpee and throw it at a passing semi truck like every week to see if we could make the biggest explosion of slush

we used to do this all the time in the mid 90s too. i was just thinking the other day how now as an adult i'd be so pissed if some little kid did that to me lol.

we would hide in a ditch with rocks and throw them at cars passing by or find big rocks to put in the street to fuck up their tires. and we didn't have tiktok telling us to do it
