There's a difference between ignoring it and actively going out of your way to inject it into events for children. This is like getting "230,000" in numerical candles on a birthday cake for a children's party. It's crass and out of place.
Can we not give literal children a single night without deliberate reminders of the pandemic? We don't have to have literal grave markers on Halloween
