your neighbor should have used an LED dot matrix on the face of the tombstone and an ESP2688 so he could update it over wifi

It's over 300 000 if you account for excess deaths and undercounting. And that number was hit on the 3rd of October, we're on the 25th now.

    https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/wr/mm6942e2.htm

Overall, an estimated 299,028 excess deaths occurred from late January through October 3, 2020

underestimate. They are predicting 400k by new years, We're gonna blow past 600k a couple months after that.

its late october, i just can't see how we'd get to 400k on the official count by jan 1, though we prob will get there in the "unofficial" count. either way, we're fucked :/

Well apparently anyone who says we shouldn't just say fuck all restrictions is just privileged.

God the people here are hypocrites.

Maybe so. But standardization of information, better recognition of symptoms, an understanding of how reinfection works, another series of openings/closings, supply chain of PPE being prioritized, and the public's general resignation to the virus rather than trying to recreate 'normality' may be steadying factors going forward. Further, as more people die, more people (not a lot, but more) will then be aware of deaths via less degrees of separation, and start to take things more seriously.

... Though any storms/wildfires will probably fuck that number, plus the riots after the election. Well, if we do hit 600,000 earlier than September, make sure to post the "REVERSI YOU LOST THE BET BRO 0 FOR 1 BRO DAMN" in main.

          They won't.

People here don't take it seriously. The government refused to take responsibility and instead consent has been manufactured for just ignoring the damn things.

Sooner than that. Thanksgiving and Christmas are gonna spike infections with more and more people not giving any fucks.

If you painted the gravestones onto grains of rice, you'd only need ten pounds of rice.

Can we not give literal children a single night without deliberate reminders of the pandemic? We don't have to have literal grave markers on Halloween

How about we take a break from caring about a pandemic that is killing millions globally when it's over, rather than arbitrarily choosing to ignore it because "think of the children!"

There's a difference between ignoring it and actively going out of your way to inject it into events for children. This is like getting "230,000" in numerical candles on a birthday cake for a children's party. It's crass and out of place.
