people literally just go bald. making fun of people for that is body shaming. bald people can't go on a diet or do anything about being bald.

kind of a strange way to frame it. i agree with the statement but your reasoning comes across a little fatphobic to me, why mention that?

Yeah, literally no point to adding that final part other than being fat phobic.

Also if it's okay to shame people because there's some way to "treat" something, that opens the door to body-shaming bald people too so it's counterproductive.

There are treatments for baldness nowadays, so is it okay to poke fun at OP for being bald if they're not exploring every possible avenue for curing baldness?

Isn't that obvious? It would be body-shaming even if a person could go on a diet or do anything about getting bald.

I mean, you could use minoxidil finasteride forever to avoid hair loss in the same way you could diet forever, so it’s similar in that both are body shaming and we shouldn’t do it and also it doesn’t matter whether or not there’s something you could do about it.

i know this is obviously a sensitive topic for you, but it is far from the 'one socially acceptable' form of body shaming, and if we really want to go there the social consequences of 'being bald' are nowhere close to the social consequences of 'being fat' or 'being visibly disabled'

I agree, all of them are body shaming and should not be condoned, but they are not comparable in the way you're trying to insinuate

it's definitely the one "socially acceptable" form of body shaming left

your post is literally fatphobic/body shames fat people

Literally just look at the older dudes in your family and think long and hard about the future of your hair at age 10-12 and let your parents know you want to transition. It's not that complicated.

hair presents a problem (styling, washing, drying), buzzing it off presents a solution (no styling, washing and drying time reduced)

Con: you have to sunscreen your head. Or wear hats all the time

    ok

It for sure is, but I don't see it being super common or seen as acceptable on here, and share others' concerns about your framing

On the contrary, I have seen it here and there throughout the site's lifespan. Less so in the last few months though.
