Lyrics:
Got shot by police,
no it didn't feel nice
I wonder what's next
"Abolish ICE!",
Yell the people with their fists in the air
Well you win and you lose and you win some
My ears are still ringing from their weapons
Yeah you win and you lose and you win some
And my wounds are still stinging from their weapons
Coming to a neighborhood near you, next to prisons
On the walls of the system, "protect and serve" is written in blood
Awake! (A-C-A-B)
The Devil (A-C-A-B)
At the gates (A-C-A-B)
Of power (A-C-A-B)
Propagate! (A-C-A-B)
It louder (A-C-A-B)
Assimilate (A-C-A-B)
Like thunder...
Fuck the police
The American vice
and I wonder what's next
Make 'em pay the price
Yell the people with their fists in the air
Well you win and you lose and you win some
My ears are still ringing from their weapons
Yeah you win and you lose and you win some
And my wounds are still stinging from their weapons
Propagate (A-C-A-B)
It Louder (A-C-A-B)
Assimilate (A-C-A-B)
Like thunder (A-C-A-B)
Don't wait (A-C-A-B)
The time's come (A-C-A-B)
Resuscitate (A-C-A-B)
In numbers (A-C-A-B)
So break the chains
From the aggressor
And seize the day
Their time's up
Eliminate the oppressor
It's time to pay
In one way or another...
i 100% feel the same way. reddit is awful about posting art. “no self promotion” (even in r/listentothis??) but you can post literally any other popular well off artist?? drives me nuts. let people decide if it’s worthy of being on the site or not, jesus.
thank you so much for your support ❤️
It's part of a system of things that we sought to oppose in /r/hailcorporate which helped to turn the site into a corporate mainstream hellhole from what was originally a rather niche techie site for high quality techie things and bizarre creator-led communities.
As any form of social media expands mainstream content creeps in and takes over... In part because mods, especially in volunteer-only communities, do not understand the lifespan and changing conditions of online communities as they grow.
If you want a community to stay cutting-edge it MUST be creator-led. As soon as it stops being creator-led the creators go somewhere else because they need an audience. What you're left with is whatever people are able to find which is typically going to lean towards the mainstream just based on discoverability.

Honestly Reddit is just a digitised version of bourgeois democracy. It appears democratic, but through a Kafkaesque bureaucracy, crowds out everything except bourgeois messaging.
The best example is the handling of ‘politics’. In almost every major sub, there’s a ‘no politics’ rule, with politics interpreted widely to include everything from voting to protests to ideology. In contrast, in the politics subs, ‘politics’ is interpreted so narrowly as to only include matters involving elected officials.
Similarly, editorialising titles is typically forbidden, and the only acceptable things to post are articles from mainstream hegemonic media. So what could be a really interesting platform becomes just an aggregator of corporate messaging.
