yup I was in the area and I joined the picket line. Grabbed a sign and waved the red union flag. Felt good but I just hope the strikes actually do something.
I think i'm gonna bring them some soup or something tomorrow, we gotta do our part to make sure they can keep going.
Alberta Advantage has a good little episode about strikes that are relevant for anyone else who wants to help: https://albertaadvantagepod.com/
Alberta Advantage slaps, Kate raging will always be a good listen
Food not Bombs is in Edmonton, Lethbridge and Calgary, it would be nice to bat signal them and get some warm food out there to picket workers.
Kenney is in the middle of doing a "cripple the public option so we can have private healthcare" in Alberta. He was going to fire thousands of these people and replace them with non unionized workers with less benefits, wages, and rights. Fuck the government of Alberta and fuck the dollar store Texans that live there.
I got the fuck out of Alberta with my family last month so my registered nurse wife didn't lose her job but this rocks, love and solidarity.
