Man something about the American Redditor brain is just incredible to me. An ability to simultaneously believe that America is descending into fascism via an awful and jingoistic population that wants to light up immigrants on sight, but also that we are the best country + culture in the world, and those damn Chinese and Russians are just so evil and barbaric, which is why we have to remain the global hegemonic power.

believe that America is descending into fascism The bizarre thing about this belief is that America's fascist since the fifties, so it doesnt matter what the police does or who's being imprisoned and tortured, it's always a "descent" as long as you can "vote" for the tastier poison.

In communist China, they are willing to allow people to be homeless to squeeze out a little more value for the "motherland" but it is really for the benefit of a few oligarchs at the top

I think Americans know corruption is literally a main feature of their country, they just consider it natural and a punch you have to take if you want to live in such a large capitalist nation. At least, that’s the vibe I get when I talk to people about stuff like this.

Or that "sure, corruption exists, but that doesn't change the fact that if I work hard I can get to the top without it anyways"

            like ok buddy :bootlicker:

No it's doubling down, as in not only do westerners chest on exams and lie on their resumes, literally this fucking guy complaining about 'chinese cheating culture' or whatever writes that he is also cheating exams - but they pay him so he can't even conceptualise how he could be doing the wrong thing

I am too tired to make that make sense in the same sarcastic tone as your original post

Knew a music label executive's son in college. He was dumb as rocks and paid me to do a lot of his math work. I did it because I was poor and when he inevitably got drunk and passed out by around 5PM on a Tuesday I would steal his beer, weed, and/or coke. One of the dumbest motherfuckers I have ever met and he's on the Nashville city council now.

But yeah, "ChInEsE aRe ChEaTeRs. I hAvE mErIt ThOuGh!"

If there is a common theme among the students from China I have interacted with (and this would MAYBE be a slim majority, certainly not all of the students and professionals I have interacted with), it's that the goal is work in the US/Canada for a bit, get a passport or citizenship, then go back to China. Ostensibly this is so they can leave if "the CPC decides to take property/wealth". They also tend to be from some sort of privileged background. So yeah, this small sample is probably very different from the attitudes of a typical person from China.

Can't wait for them to see how that plan works for them if the CPC decides to do that, I'm sure no one in the party has ever thought of that plan.

I TA'd and tutored chemistry for a few years in college and the only cheaters I ever encountered were local American students.

Mostly lazy bourgeois fucks taking pre-med classes before they fizzled out and switched to business.
