    You missed the best line:

However, please keep this in mind - that being a Nazi sympathizer does not automatically invalidate one's opinions on other topics.

"Um, ackshually, that's an ad hominem smuglord "

It's particularly interesting that someone concerned enough with logical fallacies to complain of ad hominem attacks can have "[he may be a Nazi sympathizer but let's listen to what else he has to say]" happily coexist with "[Some Hexbears say mean things so no one should listen to anything else that any of them have to say]".

They deleted my post pointing that out because ”Please don't post memes in this community”.

🤓 Well, ackshually I posted the Hitler detector emote, and emotes aren't memes.

I'm not taking Nazi's opinions seriously on their own. if a Nazi says two plus two is four, and two plus two is four, then two plus two is four. If a Nazi claims white people are being genocided, and literally no one backs that up besides people adjacent to them and people sourcing them, then it's obviously unhinged and not worth taking seriously.

If a Nazi says something, there better be a non-Nazi also saying it if there's even a chance of it being a valid opinion. If it's just the Nazi, then it's a silly letter and I won't print it or reply to it in any form of good-faith.

I'll just mention this is very close to justifying the Nazi's medical experiments because, you know they may be Nazis but uhm SCIENCE!

No it doesn't "invalidate them" per se, but you've demonstrated very poor judgement in one area (which is an understatement) and I'm not going to use my spoons trying to critically evaluate what you're saying, nor waste my time trying to reach someone so far gone. Not when there are better sources.

Maybe try not being a disingenuous condescending western imperialist nazi apologist?

Really says it all by the focus on “winning”. Doesn’t even care what is right or using different viewpoints to get to the truth of a matter. That’s explicitly engaging in bad faith.

I missed shit like this honestly, it's one thing to have a vile self aware bigot trying to speedrun getting banned. There's something special about the stubbornly and deliberately clueless liberals that have been showing up since federation and then going off to complain about us on other instances that is really funny to me. Like we are bigger - relatively speaking - here than we ever were on Reddit. What do they expect to happen?

Pretty sure mods are removing my posts by falsely claiming they are "Sectarian" in the modlog and then reposting them elsewhere on the site as their own bits.

I actually felt kind of bad for that person. They seem like an obsessive with an unhealthy internet habit. Like I thought we were terminally online? I've never once collected a screenshot album of grievances.

Folks, do yourself a favor and go outside occasionally.

Yeah, it's a huge thread with an album of 50 something screenshots of Hexbears disagreeing with them or just posting emojis like very-intelligent

It's a massive post with like multiple paragraphs and chapter splits and references to UN charters, all complaints about Hexbear. Accusations we're doing hate speech and genocide denial. I don't wanna link because I'm nervous about getting accused of brigading, and I actually am worried about this person.

Just touch grass every now and then, people

Impotent can definitely refer to how political useless and ineffective liberalism is without any medical connotation.

Yeah honestly that’s why I said maybe.

It’s a bit chicken and egg to me, in terms of ableism.

Do we call infertile men “impotent” because they lack power? The Latin root of potencia (I don’t know Latin but I know Spanish) suggests that’s the case.

So a lib who lacks power, calming their sense of alienation by rage posting on Reddit… yes they are impotent.

After going through that exercise I don’t think it is ableist but the other angel on the other shoulder says if I need to explore the concept that much then maybe it was ableist all along.

I have an open mind and I am interested in further opinion on this.

Is calling someone impotent, as in “powerless”, an ableist slur due to the fact impotent is also used as an insult for men who cannot get someone pregnant or occasionally for men who suffer erectile disfunction?

The etymological argument coupled with the fact laughing at the erectile function of cis men is kind of “punching up” makes me feel like we are gucci.

          Thoughts?

yeah, it means powerless. the erectile dysfunction thing is a euphemism and kind of a gross one (power = impregnation)

I pronounce the power one like "im-potent" whereas I pronounce the sperm one kind of like "impetent."

Hope that helps? Probably not too useful via text though.

If they want an actual argument in return they should say something worthwhile.

If they're just gonna post a link to the cia's website saying socialism is bad and all the times we support fascists was good, this is what they're gonna get.

I wonder which argument did this poster lose to cause this incredible post

Imagine if they spent half as much effort actually learning history as they did whining about hexbears telling them to learn history
