Let me Christman out for a sec....there are two kinds of dems, cynical operators, and true-sorkinhead believers. The latter category can be easily manipulated into doing the bidding of the former for obvious reasons. If we accept that the goal of the operators is to lose, because Trump is the best foil for centrist libs in history, then all I can say is that this headline is a masterwork.
