why cant people (white westerners) understand that a muslim asking you to please not draw a picture of Muhammad is not violating your freedom of speech, or oppressing you, or saying that islam is the true faith and death to christians, or even trying to insult you, the muslims here are not gonna behead you or be happy they behead you for drawing Muhammad.
please, have basic decency, just dont draw the prophet as a form of protests against the islamists, it does nothing and just offends all muslims, please have some basic form of empathy
I feel weird about this one. On the one hand its a dick move to do it. On the other hand its a really weird hill to die on. I get its culturally important to people, but you really got pick battles with more worthy opponents
I don't know about you, but I can't imagine drawing the prophet for any reason in the first place so it doesn't seem hard to avoid.
Me either, but I can't picture fighting chuds over shitty webcomics to be a fight worth having.
I know this was a blind spot for me. It's been like 5 years since I last thought about it (I've developed my thinking a lot in that time) and now seeing the way that some of r*ddit is reacting makes me glad to be out of there. The only people they are going to offend are people who agree with them anyway. Here we are going to continue doing our best to make everyone who is part of the left feel welcomed.
