I think he did have like a statutory rape conviction but one wonders what the ages involved are. Having to register as a sex offender is an effective means by which a young black man's life can be utterly ruined by cops.
If the story originates from the guy having to register as a sex offender, keep in mind that you can get put on that list for urinating in public, too.
