I love how abruptly the laughter stops, like it dies in the audience's throats
a couple weeks ago, Alec Baldwin said "Rest in Power, Jeffrey Epstein", and I knew it was all downhill from here.
This was close, though
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bertolt_Brecht#Theory_and_practice_of_theatre
Epic Theatre proposed that a play should not cause the spectator to identify emotionally with the characters or action before him or her, but should instead provoke rational self-reflection and a critical view of the action on the stage. Brecht thought that the experience of a climactic catharsis of emotion left an audience complacent. Instead, he wanted his audiences to adopt a critical perspective in order to recognise social injustice and exploitation and to be moved to go forth from the theatre and effect change in the world outside.[70]
He also still opposes universal health care, even in a pandemic.
"Hey honey, I'm feeling under the weather. Should I go to the doctor? I know it could bankrupt us, but if it's just COVID and nothing else wrong with me, the treatment will be covered."
Hmmm, wonder how that one pans out...
Same. I also don't have the patience to debate people
We are, all of us, over on the bench watching them push Tyler off the swing set.
Oh cool Mulaney is not funny at all to me but he say good thing yay
i had a friend put him on before in a car ride and thats where i found him kinda boring/bougie. Maybe i give another shot tho
My daily commute is 1hr - 90 mins a day
I inhale podcasts and comedy specials, lol
ripppp have you heard of Kyle Kinane? He one my favorites
I do music so that commute for me is usually in line with shit id do anyway (sing to drones, listen to records, symphonies.)
The "..." in that quote is doing a lot of work. Mulaney goes on way too long in the middle of that delivery. Still, good message and hopefully gets the audience thinking.
