I love-hate that in the event of an electoral college tie or inconclusive result, the house of reps, majority dems, gets to decide, but in a gerrymandered way that lets the GOP decide anyway.
The US constitution is so elaborately anti-democratic. They've thought of everything!
Trump wins in this scenario, it goes to the house. However the each state house delegation votes, not each representative, so Trump would have the majority. We have a wildly stupid system.
the virgin simple ranked-choice popular vote vs the chad insane byzantine system designed by syphilitic slaveowners back when people believed in the four humours
Yeah it’s crazy that there’s actually a couple of plausible tie scenarios. An electoral college tie is exactly the finale we need for this year.
Going by this map, all Trump has to do is flip Arizona and he wins. Something that is very possible.
He also has to hold on to Pennsylvania.
And depending on how many brainworms you have: Florida, Ohio, NC, Texas, and Georgia (lol).
I think he can do it. Dems aren't winning Texas or Georgia lol. We hear this same stupid shit every 4 years about Texas supposedly turning blue.
The optimist/lib in me makes me want to believe Bernie could have flipped Texas by shoring up his latino support.
But yeah Biden ain't winning Texas lol.
Polls are better for Biden in PA even when accounting for geography than they are in AZ, this situation is incredibly unlikely.
god imagine a month long legal battle only for the supreme court to decide to stop the vote counting on a tie.
can maine actually split electoral college votes now? I know they changed stuff about their election, but idk if it's just part of the meme.
Maine and Nebraska can split EC votes. Maine has one district that is usually red and Nebraska has a district that swings. Trump won them both last time.
It's worth pointing out that democrats won that Maine district pretty solidly in 2018, Bidens probably going to win it.
Yeah it’s definitely not a lock for Trump. Polls have it like +4 for Biden so it could probably go either way.
