lemm.ee has a smattering of decent users and a massive heap of regressive liberals desperately trying to turn it into the same echo chamber reddit has become, hexbear is where the cool kids hang out

Us and Hexbear are the biggest. Lemmygrad is Marxist, and Hexbear is all about leftist unity and pictures of pigs, poop, and other Trumps.

Token anarchist mod checking in and this is correct. Lemmygrad is very cool but Hexbear is a bit more diverse in opinion and politics, while being a bit more irreverent and more laser focused on bullying libs and chuds at every opportunity while having some very opaque in-jokes and site culture.

The ease with which the explicitly Marxist Leninist server merged with us is really awesome, kinda wish there was an anarchist version of lemmygrad we could federate with and have us serve as a sort of conduit.

We're pretty unique in that we actually managed to be a good place for left unity, probably because we're too busy screaming at braindead libs and posting memes to fight.

It also helps that the anarchists we have here are actual anarchists, rather than the "I learned everything I know about politics from a neckbeard western chauvinist twitch streamer and I vote blue no matter who" types you'll find cosplaying as anarchists over on reddit-logo

That's kinda what I mean, like I want to find another server with principled anti-imperialist anarchist types. But the anarchists that keep popping up are all like "yeah I'm an anarchist, I watch Vaush streams"

There's a higher bar than this that the anarchists here take, which is supporting China, Vietnam, Cuba, and Laos along with Rojava, the Zapatistas, Revolutionary Catalonia, the KPAM, and the Paris Commune.

A lot of this comes from a constant and relentless unmasking of American propaganda.

Yeah, I think we were just happy to have more leftists to brace against the wall of liberals. And you guys discovered that same thing pretty much immediately I thnk. But also, as you mentioned, you guys are also SIGNIFICANTLY better than the braindead anarchists we typically dealt with on the rest of the lemmiverse. I'm sure a few have dropped by here.

The Cultural Anarchists are bullied pretty hard here. You can like stuff that's culturally anarchist, like punk rock and graffiti and other "anarchist" associated things and be anything.

Which means more often than not the people who specifically enjoy that particular cultural segment are in the default political position of uninformed liberal. Which means you suddenly have a ton of liberals who think they're anarchists because they like listening to the Sex Pistols or Anti-Flag.

The only reason you don't have the same issue with Marxist Leninists (at least not at the same scale) is because there isn't really a massive cultural market that has been created by Marxist Leninists. Anarchists got rolled into situatinalism and maintained a presence in the West during the development of the "diffuse spectacle" (to quote Guy).

But yeah, the whole hatred of anarchists thing is just a hatred of liberals. Anarchism as an ideology is something that can be discussed while liberalism just needs to be mocked.

On the other hand, the most vocal left unity wreckers seem do it with hb accs. But it is what it is 🤷

A leftist who bullies is a shitty leftist, a leftist who bullies leftists is something else and a chauvinistic dickhead

I said left unity, not unity. Fuck unity with liberals and fascists. They're meant to be bullied and harassed until they learn to not be chauvinist dickheads.

Yeah, the long story is that an anarchist named ziq set up Raddit.me (now Raddle.me) at the end of 2016 as a Reddit alternative.

I haven't been over there in years but I'm assuming that's where the majority of anarchists who use a Reddit-alternative are, in part because ziq does a lot of scaremongering about Lemmy.

Ziq has a... colourful history and it seems as though they deleted this post and went back to being an admin at some point, although I'm not sure when exactly because when I got wind of the Raddle drama I just backed away from all of it permanently.

But suffice it to say that I think anarchists are underrepresented in Lemmy because they tend to gravitate towards Raddle instead.
