He hasn't really passed any major anti-gay/bi legislation, just anti-trans stuff. And not only do trans people make up a smaller percent of the community, but the most known piece of legislation is anti-trans in the military which isn't gonna actually affect many trans people's lives. So I'm not really surprised. Plus like with Hilary, people know Bidens past and know that he isn't much of an ally.

      :this:

the lack of an opponent that was in actual opposition to trump was unhelpful for the dems to say the least

Yeah, his worst transgression is in appointing mostly really horrible circuit court judges, some extreme homophobes. Also Gorsuch still saying Obergefell wasnt correctly determined (but then extending sex discrimination rights...)

The dems control the house so can’t pass any legalisation without them right. Wasn’t the trans-military thing an executive order or something?

    Class always prevails

Doesn't save you from the fascist death camps, but, well, rest assured the blonde-haired blue-eyed family being moved into your house is getting a tax break

well, on the one hand, yes, you're mostly right but on the other hand, trump ran up margins in almost every minority group compared to 2016. this is not just class prevailing, its a complete lack of class consciousness in our culture too. :/

People started to believe a lot of whacky stuff , involving Trump being the savour from some sort of interdimensional demons and theories of that kind in the last 4 years.

        Also, anti-lockdown people.

Wealthier people have been voting Biden. Trump has significantly more working class support than any Republican candidate since before the Great Depression.

Are you saying LGBTQ are disproportionally poor or working class, and that is why they are moving towards Trump? I would agree with that.

For trans people local politics usually matters more than the federal or even state level.
Trump brings home the pity points that gets things done where it actually matters.
If people care about LGBTQ issues they should focus on mutual aid, education, and media, not politics.

USA already has informed consent clinics, and is ahead of the curve on transgender issues that actually matter.
It is not like Biden would or could disband the far-right militias and shut down Breitbart, KF, TERFs, pol, etc.

Another very important takeaway is that identity (race, gender, sexuality, etc.) as a deterministic factor in partisan affiliation and voter behavior is dead as a doornail, or on its way out as this realignment continues

Liberal identity politics is a dead fucking end

This was from an exit poll I guess. I'm starting to think poll data is useless. How fucking far off can it be? The only way most of the state polls were close were by applying the margin consistently to both sides. The Senate polls seem even worse than the Presidential ones.

yeah this was an exit poll, its not hard data but its probably within the realm of accuracy. polling needs to be shut downl.

hm, now im desperately searching for some 2016 exit polls that tell you what % of respondents were lgbt, this one is 7% and honestly that seems... probably typical.
