No such thing as true decolonization under global capitalism. If it's not directly ruled by the US, it will be indirectly ruled by the US via the IMF.
PR becoming a state would not be a permanent relationship for eternity. If there is a socialist revolution, PR would obviously have a right to it's autonomy.
The PR independence movement is effectively dead among working class puerto ricans. It's basically a position just held by the intelligentsia
