Cause identity politics is bullshit and it makes more sense when you break it down by class.

Most of the votes this year can be broken down into the category of college educated voters. Democrats are quickly becoming the snobby, rich and highly educated party. Some how, some way, the GOP is managing to paint itself out as this working class party and it's beginning to work to some extent.

It don't help that Dems spent this entire election cycle talking down to minorities in a smug, condescending matter (like how they talk to all of us, as if we're just fucking brain dead stupid unless we vote blue and fuck you anyway for being poor, that's their mindset).

On the other hand, when you look at it from income levels, most of the increased support Trump got for LGBT and POC was coming from middle and upper class households. What ID-POL nonsense don't take into account is that there are a lot of rich minorities and LGBT folks in this country. There's a history with Log Cabin Republicans coming out of the LGBT block and if you analyze Latino voters, a large portion of them are Catholic and have leaned conservative for decades.

I'm sure Dems didn't help themselves by running the author of the 1994 crime bill and man who's staff flat out said back in May that they didn't find Latinos to be that important of a voter block.
