Real talk, I'd like to see that logic applied to why we should "relieve" the ultra-wealthy of such a burden.
I've had a version of this argument thrown at me when I tried to argue for monthly stimulus checks (and also rent/mortgage freezes) during the covid19 pandemic, on the basis that a lot of poor people treated it like a slush fund (e.g. buying fireworks) rather than spending it more responsibly, e.g. saving up for a car or otherwise investing in themselves.
Love this country we have where literally everybody except like 50 people are miserable. Literally everybody is miserable.

People treat a windfall as a windfall and a steady income stream as a steady income stream.
