Look at all the criticism of the crime bill this election cycle -- it was significant enough that Biden called it a mistake at a debate. Obama's approval among Democrats is still high, but it's dropped about 10 points from when he left office.
We can similarly move the needle on Obama. And if you can't persuade libs of that, good luck building a coalition to replace centrist Democrats.
