I sure hope they make ME1 combat actually fun and not just something you have to do.
Also they're working on a new game too and getting a "veteran" team back together .
Who the fuck would bother buying and playing through that series again knowing how it ends?
Yeah, it really did poison my love for the series.
Don't know if I can go back at this point
If it's just "remasters" like Burnout Paradise they won't really change anything. Just make it add like 2-3 minor graphical additions and then ship it out the door.
Frankly, on PC: I don't REALLY NEED the remasters.
Ah, the Bethesda Strategy.
if I can’t sex Garrus with maleShep
This, but also if I can't sex Tali with femshep. In fact make them all bi, that works best.
Hot take: ME2 vanguard is the only fun combat in the ME series
Imagine wanting to ditch an actually futuristic combat paradigm for a rehashed call of duty clone
I do have fond memories of boarding that one biotic ship, getting ragdolled instantly and clipping under the floor like 10x in a row, except that one time I managed to get a lift off and then breezed through. Good times.
I replayed the first two games (never finished the trilogy) and it almost hurt how much I remembered loving and caring about these games. If they are only going to touch up the graphics I don't care. More of these remakes need to be willing to make substantive adjustments to the gameplay (and even the story, in cases like ME), if only on a quality-of-life level (looking at you, MediEvil remake).
Who remembers when we thought stars dying too early might be connected to the reapers? I believe a rework of the story is far more important than of gameplay or graphics. Even though the 2nd game was less rpg-e there was still a sense of wonder, of unexplored space and of the unknown. I left the chat with sovereign in awe of this terrible foe, unsure if we could ever divine or even understand their intentions.
but luckily, as it turns out this can be explained in just one sentenceIt would also be a great chance to adjust the role that cerberus plays throughout the series.
If it doesn't get a new ending I don't care. I don't give a fuck about the graphics, it's an RPG supposedly.
Such a transparent money grab.
I sure hope they make ME1 combat actually fun and not just something you have to do.
Uh, did you read what you linked?
While each game is getting spruced up visuals, they should play just as you remember them. Elements like “textures, shaders, models, effects, and more have all been sharpened up, while the trilogy has been enhanced with faster framerates and resolutions “optimised for 4k Ultra HD”.
Well yeah ME1 was a good story, but the gameplay itself was not the main draw. Offroading and combat were kinda sucky.
ME1 had the best gameplay by far of any in the series, but ONLY if you played the space wizard class on the hardest difficulty. All the other classes were wank.
Yep, that's the problem. That was horrible.
For ME2 they completely neutered the space wizard class and made all three classes have the same gameplay with different skills. But in ME1 all your space wizard skills had separate cooldowns, and you had to juggle all of them to survive on max difficulty.
Look, I can still dream can't I?
Edit: Also there's this:
“Our goal was not to remake or reimagine the original games, but to modernize the experience so that fans and new players can experience the original work in its best possible form.”
hmm, maybe. me2and 3 were giant disappointments considering what me1 set up
hot take here: all the romance companions should be bi. my sole reason is i'm trans so i dislike playing my AGAB just so i can get with my preferred companion who's woefully heterosexual
though my argument doesn't hold well for ME since male shep has the personality of a brick and fem shep is infinitely more interesting
accidentally deleted my comment lol
i certainly agree with all your points but i do have a good point from DA2's story: the act 3 plot, specifically using violence as a means of liberating an oppressed people. it's shitty of bioware to try to justify their oppression by making mages into abominations sometimes, but that's an overall issue with the DA series.
someone more competent than bioware could've made the mage plight into a deeply compelling narrative about oppression
good thing i bought the OG trilogy and played it through in the past few months. smdh it was an 8+ yr old games and the DLCs weren't even on sale.
