Like, okay, Biden sucks, we still have work to do, and, fuck, it might make some of that work harder instead of easier.

And in four years, if/when things only get worse, the general electorate might unite around a Bernie blessed demsoc, but what's more likely, imo is they also might elect a much much more competent fascist.

So, like, until then, are we just back to normal run of the mill neoliberalism again? Like a four year long eye of the storm?

Or are we still in the zone?

The Trump presidency was like the unrelenting, scorching heat of summer. No relief and it could really sap the energy from you.

The Biden presidency will be like the cool breezes of autumn with some relief and lots of pretty colors everywhere...

...but do not forget to harvest and prepare while you can... because winter is coming and it will be brutal.

And the winter will be uh... actually hotter than the summer or the autumn.

I'm not sure temperature-based analogies are the best choice for talking about the looming climate-driven crises.

I... uh... stand by my analogy. It's uh, gonna be the hottest winter on record... and it's gonna last a really, really long time... maybe forever. (And it could be the 'coolest of cool zones' in human history too.)

..screw it - what I'm really trying to say - is no, don't get complacent! As much as Biden wishes to "return to normal," there's no carrying on as if these past 4 years never occurred and things will continue to get very weird and unpredictable from here on out.
