And also got fewer votes than Kanye west lmfao

Doesn't really matter but kind of disappointing I guess

We'll see what the final numbers are, but I don't really think it's a cause for concern if they aren't much of an improvement. Most people didn't take the 2016 election all that seriously, whereas a lot more people treated this one like life or death. It would make sense if left-wing voters weren't interested in voting third party this time around.

Edit: I also compared the numbers for the Green Party in New York between 2016 and now: 1.4% in 2016, 0.35% this time around.

California has only counted 65% of its vote and this is where La Riva is based.

Um actually I'm in Canada and La Riva is still based

The media coverage of third parties was especially non existent too. Lots of people had heard of Jill Stein and Gary Johnson last election, but Jo Jorgenson and Howie Hawkins barely got into any mainstream discussion. Last election 4.5 mil people voted for Gary Johnson, this time only 1.7 mil have voted for Jo so far.

    yeah no shit

Anyone without terminal online brain knew that was going to happen, nobody on planet earth who hasn't been to www.reddit.com/r/ChapoTrapHouse knows who Gloria La Riva is

I'm not delusional, obviously she wasn't going to get very many votes, but I had hoped there would be at least some growth since 2016.

Eh, who gives a shit? If you're going to do electoralism run for city council. Vanity runs every four years is how you end up with the powerhouse Green Party of the United States.

I don't understand how she got just 138 votes in the whole state of Texas. Are these the real totals? Maybe they don't count write-ins unless the race is close?

She only had ballot access in like 15 states. Howie got like 15k in my state, I think this election was just a massive rigging competition on both sides and the 3rd parties just got fucked.

What's your source for this? I haven't been able to find the final numbers, but I saw people quoting numbers from incomplete counts last week and using that to draw the same conclusion.

You're right, they aren't quite final yet.
