Was that what was previously up on that wall? Like did someone take down a Simon Bolivar painting to put up a portrait of Juan fuckin Guiado instead? :agony:

Forgive me and point me in the right direction, but how was the US doing imperialism during the late 1700s and early 1800s. I’m not very knowledgeable of the US during this time

Well, obviously the whole Indian thing. And the whole slave thing.

Oh, not much, that comment was probably more about foreseeing what would happen lol. Idk, I'll have to look up why he said that particular thing and when.

Mainly just the Monroe doctrine paving the way, saturating Mexican Texas with slave owners, and the Native American genocide.

If there has been one bougie nationalist who deserves to be called "good", it is probably Bolivar.

I guess then now I have a face to the name lol

Knowing that makes them taking down his painting for some print of Guaido even worse, yikes.

Worth noting he's the namesake of Bolivia, and ruled Gran Colombia which became Venezuela, Ecuador, Colombia, and Panama, and why those first three have similar flags 🇻🇪 🇪🇨 🇨🇴

Simon Bolivar is like the founding father of Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Panama, their George Washington figure who won independence from Spain. Chavez’s democratic political revolution in Venezuela claims to be the true heir of Bolivar’s legacy.
