You’re not giving her enough credit. She wasn’t bullied into it. She decided when Trump went after Hunter Biden that it was a bridge too far because bringing failchildren into the mix would harm both parties
It was both. She didn't want to do anything (because she's an awful speaker who is killing democracy via incompetence) and took it as an easy out because the dems were feeling such voter pressure.
Yeah, there was a lot of energy for impeachment after the 2018 midterms but she squashed that. Then when Trump went after Hunter she could be like "aha, he's really crossed a line this time" and engage her attack mode where she turns into the valiant fighter who's fighting super duper hard but just can't do anything because those damn Republican senators!
