Prison slavery is still legal in the USA btw

This isn't even counting the concentration camps at the border.

    Interesting though that its going down. Do we know why? I was thinking maybe just so many prisoners dying of COVID but it looks like the down started way earlier than that

      Crime is down, despite the determined and successful efforts to convince us otherwise. Also some states have stepped back from the stunningly huge mandatory sentencing policies imposed during the 80s and 90s.

      I'd gather Marijuana legalization had at least a small part in it. At the bare minimum, there was a significant public shift against the War on Drugs as a result.

      kind of looks like it begins flattening in '08, so maybe it's related to the financial crash somehow? the 2020 downturn was probably both covid deaths and covid releases, and also that crime time went down when everyone was inside
