Like everything, it starts with an organic foundation then slowly gets absorbed by capitalism. They're now brand reps more than anything. Subscribe to curiositystream, BlueApron, and watch your favorite streamer take an extended, nonchalant sip from their favorite [brand] soda, replete with logo mugging the camera lens.
This forum spends way too much time and energy announcing to itself that a vague collection of YouTubers are not communist enough. Is vaguely progressive media analysis going to lead to the revolution? No. Is some internet media personality making a full-throated rallying call for your personal favorite tendency going to lead to the revolution? Also no. Is wringing your hands about this even less useful to the cause than the media personalities in question? Yes.
It's fandom warring. Like /co/ complaining about Tumblr.
yeah but if you don't publicly denounce those youtubers then people might assume that you watch them
but for real the only reason I know what "breadtube" is is from all the people here who complain about it. i would have loved to go my entire without hearing about youtubers like vaush or contra or whoever
Yeah. Breadtube is not really my thing, but we really spend to much time mad.
