That's what Square-En. gets for not finishing up Mankind Divided. Cyberpunk genre sends its regards, Capeshit.

I'm still seething that they probably killed the Deus Ex franchise at least for the foreseeable future and it was because they wanted to do this crap, get fucked

This was one of the most obvious bombs for a long, long time before it came out. A single-player focused developer making a GaaS licensed monstrosity where the whole appeal of the property is that every character is unique and has weird abilities but you have to fit them all into a single RPG melee combat mold. If Squenix had just let them make a Kamala Khan game about joining the Avengers you would have had such a better product at a lower cost. But everyone's gotta try and fail to be the next Destiny.

There's only one Destiny! You won't replace it! Stop trying!

Reminds me of the MMO craze a while back when everyone tried to make a WoW-killer. They're all dead or free-to-play with barely enough players to sustain server costs now.

Two actually. Isn't the Division doing sort-of well? I tuned out after the Epic Game Store exclusivity, though.

Is it? Could be. Ubisoft knows how to run GaaS better than most. I just reinstalled For Honor.

Well, the first was successful enough to get a sequel. I dunno the console numbers, but the Epic store "exclusive"/Uplay exclusive killed a lot of good will (IMO) on PC.

Yeah, I think the Epic exclusive killed it hard on PC (I dunno anyone on PC that bought it) and the lack of end-game in the first one (fixed in the expansions but the first impression counted) made some people leery.

I think it was "successful" for Ubisoft (I don't recall them claiming it cost them a lot of money like the Avengers did for Square) but not as successful out of the gate for them like the first one.

I will say if they put the Division 2 on Steam, I'd buy it price-unseen and get the Warlords of New York expansion because I was invested in the story more than Destiny's (which was a total snooze IMO) and I'd like to continue that, but not enough to give my Credit Card information to Ubisoft OR download the Epic Game Store (and trust them with my CC either)

i just play it like a normal rpg I dont really waifu or whatever, characters each have skills, constellations and actual usable abilities in addition to their element and weapon type so idk about waifus, and husbandos being the main focus, i know weebs play it but idc

its nice to play a AAA game for once lol

i do hate the gacha, but im clearing late game content alright on f2p

I pre-ordered and still play it regularly. I really enjoy the game.

As someone who plays destiny it’s hilarious watching every game be “tHe NeW dEsTiNy KiLlEr” then completely flop on launch.

Perfect timing for the release too, significantly after the last movie so there's no hype bump, during a pandemic so people possibly have less money. Just all around great lol.

As bad as Sony's Ironman VR. There's not even RDJ narration (to make you feel like Ironman/stepping into his shoes like his replacement) or Jarvis (IIRC). Releasing way after the 3 films and his (spoilers). Absolutely boneheaded decisions at Marvel and these companies.

Yeah I saw the lousy reviews and didn't bother.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance was fun, back in the day.

I remember the time when i just HAD to see all of these super hero films. There was Iron Man. There was Superman and "the new" Batman. There was the Avengers. Even Wonder Woman and Black Panther caught my attention and I saw them.

But then the sequels and remakes just blurred together so much. Like, Avengers 2, Thor, Captain America and probably another Avengers with a non-sequential name. What could i possibly be missing? I already know those characters. How many Batman films can there be? They need to do something different for me to want to watch another.

For example, here is a spicy idea of mine. Take some of these characters and change the genre for the "sequel". Instead of action/adventure, go for a buddy film/comedy or just a drama. Maybe set it in a different time too. It could be "The Lost Avengers: stranded". And it would be set in the world of Pirates of the Caribbean. Thor and Flash meet each other stranded on opposite ends of a tropical island with a volcano on it. And they just learn to live on the island, and maybe they meet natives and have to learn their language to survive. They have no super powers. etc. I would rather watch that than Avengers 4: Iron Grip on the Audience.

Edit: and how about the reboots? There was the Hulk. And then they just did it again differently, so it wasn't Hulk 2. It was Hulk v2. They did the same thing with Fantastic Four. Well, first they did Fantastic Four 2. But then they redid the first one, so I called it "Fantastic Four part 1, v2"
