Some takeaways:

  1. Trump is the most pro-life, anti baby-murder president we've ever had, and it's a demonic plot that stole the election from him. The communist Democrats are hell-bent on killing as many babies as possible to show their allegiance to Satan.

  2. Then they showed a clip of a Muslim devotional video which claimed Allah was the one true god. After the clip ended, they started praising Trump for keeping the borders closed. If he let the Muslims in, rampant evil would spread across our great nation the likes of which has never been seen, collapsing our institutions to enact Sharia Law.

  3. They then showed protesters at an ICE detention camp, holding signs such as, "Family Has No Borders", "Close the Camps", and "Abolish ICE". They began to harangue the protesters, calling them Marxist actors who want to let as many illegal drug dealers and traffickers into our country as possible, in order to weaken our amazing president's administration.

This was all within ten minutes, lol. TV Christianity is literally just state propaganda of the Republican party. Nothing that they spoke about had anything to do with God or Christ.

Every time I hear that, I get sad that we don't have any representation, just two parties that hate communists more than each other.

That would be pretty sick, lol. I don't even care if they're a party with 0 influence, it would just be cool to have a few American Communist Party reps in congress to show that there are commies out there who want change.

In Greece for a while they had both KKE and Golden Dawn in Parliament. Of course it did actually escalate to violence but Golden Dawn was just recently ruled a criminal organization lmao

I've said this to rightoids before when they refer to the democrats as "commies." You know there are actual communists in parliaments in different world governments right? You can wikipedia this in like two seconds. No effect. Bouncing a ball off a wall.

In a country of 10mil there are 850k workers in a Communist Party-affiliated union. Proportionally that's more than all unionized workers in the US lol. Imagine if like 28mil Americans were in a Communist labor union. That's what greece is like and they're still a Capitalist shithole.

Chris Hedges calls them Christian heretics for exactly this reason. If they followed Christ's word they'd need to find someone with a braided whip.

And all of this hyper political Christianity can be traced back to the 60s and 70s. Abortion, "welfare queens", gay marriage, imperialism, Israel, etc. None of the issues they care about are based on the Bible, and it's amazing that nobody thinks that's weird. Edit: except Israel I guess.

Most leftists that don't like Hedges have an issue with his negative attitude towards sex work, gambling and drug use. His views are closer to international Communist parties on those issues rather than the American left which doesn't have an influential legacy of Marxism, but rather comes forward from individual ideological advancement from liberalism.

Basically he sees sex work, drug abuse and gambling as the result of increasing alienation and systemic poverty and thinks that the left should fight to reduce these things. A lot of american leftists are basically the modern equivalent of hippies and don't like the idea of trying to "regulate recreational activities" or whatever.

It's so incredible how many people in America just believe all this stuff. It's honestly a step less believable than santa at this point, how extremely out of touch do you have to be?

It makes me really sad. I'm not anti-Christianity, but I hate that so many people let their religion supercede human rights, worker solidarity, science, history, and the general evolution of culture and opinion. It's hurting everybody else so they can feel like they're saving the world. Which takes a backseat to benefiting themselves, hoarding money and grifting poor marks.

Literally go to any Catholic Worker house if the internet doesn't work for you. They are mostly badass Anarchists and they want you to visit them. They fed me and Conversed with me when no one else would.

The Catholic Workers and Satanists would definitely work together if it meant making peoples' lives better. Dorothy Day refused to be canonized because it would dull her radicalism. Material change and radical people is what we want.

well we wont work with them, you know with all the stuff the church has done (or, lack of). we would never want to be aligned with a group that lets their children sufffer.

Catholic Worker is actually unaffiliated with the church, just a hold over from early days. Guy I knew who worked there was basically atheist.

Quite the evolution in rhetoric. I bet you would when you met a couple Catholic Workers. They are more committed to helping the poor than they are to their religion. Voluntary poverty and civil disobedience are the big tenets amongst this group. Maybe don't generalize Christians, especially when I explicitly mention that most of them are Anarchists first and foremost.

I guess it’s all based on experiences. I was molested all thw way from the 2nd to the 4th grade under a house of “god”, and it was swept under the carpet per usual. I get the help, bless em for the work they do, but there are other way to help folks without preaching pseudoscience.

agree to disagree. we both have similar visions, so for that i am thankful. we could probably get real deep into this discussion but hey, we can do this just about anywhere on the internet. <3

At the end of the day I don't think the CW are the end all be all. Just a few thousand people doing good work to alleviate people living on the street. I find myself in the camp of Agnosticism. If there is a mainstream group that is getting people off the streets with no questions asked, I'm going to help them.
