The entire Pyre soundtrack is amazing.
Never to Return is my personal favorite. Darren Korb is too good, every time you play against a different faction in this game you get a different version of this song and they are all great.
Everyone, fucking play Pyre it's very good and also very based. It literally has it's own fictional word for "solidarity."
Minorish spoilers for anyone who still needs convincing:
You play as a group of outcast prisoners who want to win their back freedom, to return to the Kingdom that cast them out and overthrow it.
It's also very sad.
it's like the perfect length to play through, would highly rec it as one of the top 10 N64 games
All the music from the two Pokemon games on the Gamecube, especially the city music

tbf the pokemon coliseum games are the best pokemon games to this day
Besides the great music, they have way more story depth than the handheld games.
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest had a speed metal soundtrack which worked really well for a SNES fantasy game somehow
Yeah, same - I think my favorite might be the Lava Dome music, but the soundtrack for the whole game is absolutely killer, definitely one of the aspects of it that holds up the best. It's a fairly simple game but the story isn't bad and IMO the existence of simple games are important - this was the only game I was able to beat all on my own as a little kid and I was really proud of doing so. Now that I'm grown it still gets a nostalgia play through every couple of years (especially since it's under 10 hours to complete for me).

Sorry, the GMA one was the quickest I could find, don't let it diminish kitty.
I would like to take this time to point out that even GMA carried over the toilet paper roll thing. What are these people wiping their asses with?
Not sure if no one has heard it, but I feel like the Maniac Mansion OST is a little underrated. Here is Dave's Theme.
Riverbed Canyon from the 1998 A Bug's Life game

I played the PC version, which is nearly identical to the PS1, although it's really hard to get working properly on modern PCs without persistent graphical glitches.
Oh god. I'm not gonna post anything from rhythm games or I'd be here for hours.
You're Mine from Furi. My god this song fits so well. One of the final fights in the game, and she will gladly fuck your day up if you're unprepared. Also, it's fucking Carpenter Brut, who doesn't love them?
The Cybergrind from Ultrakill. This song just loops during the survival mode - and somehow, despite having invested at least 20 hours into the survival mode, I still haven't gotten tired of this. It's so good. The guitar riff that kicks in around 1:40, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Apex Combat from GTFO. This is a co-op stealth/horror game that turns into a horde shooter when you fuck up (or at pre-set events that set off alarms). It is not the kind of game you would expect to have a boss fight. It has a boss fight.
Not really much of one for the "passive" background tracks in most games, just not enough for me to grab onto. But damn, there's some good fight themes out there.
Alright welp. I'm gonna avoid posting the meme songs a ton of people know like Red Zone or Second Heaven, and just go with the actually good, underappreciated ones.
Climax by USAO from Chunithm. Very fun song, chart looks great but is a bit too hard to play with my janky "using a keyboard as a controller" setup, so idk really.
MAYHEM by RoughSketch from SDVX. Yes, 998 BPM is a valid speed for your music, and it fuckin slaps. Definitely my new favorite level 20 song as well, so fun to play.
SCREW // owo // SCREW by Camellia from IIDX. That is indeed actually the song title.
Behemoth by DJ Myosuke from Taiko no Tatsujin. Honestly kinda boring until the second half, but that second half is so good.
Juggler's Madness by Lite Show Magic from SDVX. Game keeps the same pattern as every C-Show/Lite Show Magic song, forcing your hands into all kinds of bullshit crossovers, it's just impossible to play at first, but once you know what it's doing? So good.
SAtAN by P*Light from SDVX. can you tell i main sdvx yet
Codename Zero by Nelime from Cytus. I have... issues... with this game, and most games from Rayark. Some of the songs, though...?
Hades by Massive New Krew from IIDX. The bit from 1:20 on is so much fun to play.
Endymion by fallen shepherd from DDR. One of, if not the hardest song to play, playing it "properly" (that is, alternating between feet as much as possible) on the hardest difficulty straight up requires you to face away from the screen at one point, but man, if this song doesn't perfectly sound like "rhythm game boss fight", I dunno what does.
I'm gonna stop there. There are so many good songs buried in these obscure Japanese arcade games that basically no one outside of the community knows about.
I've been trying to get into IIDX, but thusfar I'm very hardstuck on 9s. Can clear maybe 15-20% of the ones I try, but 8s feel super chill at this point.
Honestly, probably gonna be pretty stuck there until I can find a way to play comfortably that doesn't involve pulling my left hand off the buttons entirely for scratches, but man, trying to reach over with just one or two fingers is damn near impossible for me. So any button-heavy charts like Nanairo or Ninja Is Dead, I'm fine on, but the second I try something with a lot of scratches at the same time as buttons like CODE:Ø, it's just... not happening.
Space Rangers 2 soundtrack. I used to play this game a lot as a kid, still one of my favourite games

this game is a cult classic in Russia but almost unknown in the West unfortunately. I recommend trying it out, it's still fun
fun fact: my username comes from that game
