What if I told you that some of the judges in Hong Kong are not Chinese nationals, but British. Yes, the worst thing is that it's true; they aren't only dressed as colonizers, they are the colonizers.

It's what happens when you don't fully remove the influence of colonizers, sign a pretty unfair agreement, and choose to respect said agreement (the CPC actually honours their compromises).

        Just recently this happened: https://www.reuters.com/article/idINKBN28405V

Which is funny because it's the best thing that could happen to Hong Kong.

which is crucial to the city's status as a hub for trade and finance

Ya, China literally dosen't care about that, there are like four or five other cities that make more money than Hong Kong and having Hong Kong as your landing zone in China is only marginally useful for businesses now. Like its quickly becoming just other large city in China, except it continues to maintain its colonial political strucutre which is annoying for Beijing.

The only guarantee of maintaining an autonomous Hong Kong that Britian had at hand-over was their assumption that China would basically stay the same as it was in the 1980s and Hong Kong would be its only outlet to the world. I mean not like they had much of a choice since China would have just invaded and ended everything in one day in 1982

Virginia's courts are still independent. Some want to rein them in.

Lincoln's Northern regime is extending it's grip and targeting the judiciary, which is crucial to the state's status as a hub for trade and finance
