The US rehabbed the Nazis and folded them into NATO. Brought them into the space race program. Interned Japanese ONLY. Allowed Nazis to take refuge in Latin America. Went after American communists rather than American Nazis. Brought Japanese war criminals into bio weapons program

Like all those people who were arrested during MCarthism because at some point in college they were in touch with someone who may have once chatted with a third person who buyed weed from a dude that in one occasion spent time with a bougie commie.

Just realized that McCarhtyists where so deranged they even would've called Obama a commie, based entirely on his cringy attempts to impress leftist women in college.

Red Scare was legit scary shit. Anti-communist purges are always brazenly indiscriminate, and even the slightest suspicion is enough to get people imprisoned or killed.

The CIA always was nazi, like no OG nazi, but they fully supported nazi ideas

Well, yeah, but it wasn't nearly on the same scale. Not that I'm saying it was fun to be a German-American during either of the world wars--a mob tried to lynch my great-grandfather for preaching in German and being a pacifist Mennonite to boot, but even so it really doesn't compare to how Japanese-Americans were treated.

Oh no doubt, but there were internment camps for everyone is what I'm saying. Easier for german/italian folks to pretend to be wasp or whatever,no doubt

astronaut 1: Wait, strategic value and usefulness against an economic/military enemy supersedes clear contradictions to self-ascribed moral values and standings?

    astronaut 2: Always has.

Allowed Nazis to take refuge in Latin America.

This gets even more egregious when you consider all the times the U.S. violated the sovereignty of different Latin American nations (up to and including full invasions and occupations). But hunting Nazis? Nah, that's a bridge too far, let them have little a retirement as a treat.
