I feel like it's not just chuds. Society at large seems insanely hostile towards anything marketed towards young women.

Never forget the Justin Bieber hate. Literally got booed at a basketball game when his song came on and he was only like 15

I mean, I agree with the general thrust of the theory that Bieber hatred was motivated towards hostility to things teen girls like, but "Baby" was genuinely a really irritating song to me and I like most pop music. Quiet liked the songs on "Believe" though.

I think it's because the "standard" form of marketing is targeting teenage and young men. Young women have increasingly become consumers, so marketing reflects that. CHUDs (and probably a good degree of normal people) get triggered when they don't have every facet of media dedicated to them.

Chuds get mad anything ANYONE likes anything unless it's the thing they like, and even then you can only like it if you're also a chud.

          Found this:

          https://www.refinery29.com/en-us/2020/02/9357209/billie-eilish-rap-music-controversy-vogue

“There are tons of songs where people are just lying,” Eilish told Vogue. “There’s a lot of that in rap right now, from people that I know who rap.”

“It’s like, ‘I got my AK-47, and I’m fuckin’ ...’ and I’m like, what? You don’t have a gun. ‘And all my bitches...’ I’m like, which bitches? That’s posturing, and that’s not what I’m doing.”

It’s really easy. I play them the al Pacino Dunkin’ Donuts ad from Jack and Jill and they give me 40 million

Bad Guy is a fucking bop. I loved it from the first time I heard it. Even though I don't follow the type of news that would tell me about pop music, I was vaguely aware of the "making music in her garage with her brother" story and based on what I know about the music industry I figured it was probably just marketing but whatever, cool if true.

Even with what you said, there's some clever things going on with the production of her music. I'm not great at explaining this so my explanation will probably be shit, but the frequency of the bass is shifted up so it sounds better on phone speakers and earbuds which don't sound great playing anything at an ultra low frequency. So yeah even though it's not high art or anything, she and her brother definitely know what they're doing. There's a reason why it's so popular.

I mean even Billie herself said she feels like she's acting like a parody of herself these days. Her image seems a little forced, but only so much as any teenage girl forces their image. She makes cool music with her brother and people like it and I have nothing negative to say about her since I don't even know her (obviously).
