Cars are bad, but if an enthusiast subculture wants to use them for a hobby and drive/race them in designated places I don't have a big problem with it. Mostly I hate that we've built our entire world around requiring universal private car ownership.
Imagine being on a leftist website and being surprised at the take that cars are bad.
How about electric cars
Also bad. Even a hypothetical electric car that doesn't have the negative externalities of lithium battery manufacturing. Carbon emissions from gasoline are bad, but not even the worst thing about car culture.
cars are manufactured by an industry that has put untold amounts of money into ensuring that our transportation infrastructure is individualized to the point that you need a car to get around
cars could be good if they were manufactured and used solely as the most practical mode of transportation in certain circumstances i.e. rural communities.
cars right now are manufactured as goods for capitalist profit for an industry that has worked to systematically destroy any alternative to the personal automobile.
Cars are not neutral, nor do they really make things more accessible, all things considered. Needing a car is like the most regressive tax you can imagine, costing you upwards of $300 a month and requiring poor people to spend more, even in absolute terms, on gas and repairs.
Trains can get to just about anywhere in North America. A bus can go just about anywhere a car can go. There's not some major technological restriction on how wide-spread mass-transit can be. It's just probably not going to be profitable, especially not for car companies.

Do you typically haul fridges in a car? My car is much too small for that.

Please read The Social Ideology of the Motorcar if you haven't already.
@ChapoBapo and @all_or_nothing too.
Yeah like I said cars are bad.
Cars are cool as a hobby/sport thing. Cars are bad as a mode of transportation. Electric cars are bad because lithium batteries are bad.
