There's plenty of good non-MSM stuff out there and it's not exactly hard to find. My film recommendation is A Touch Of Sin. It's by a Chinese director, all in Chinese, and apparently Xi Jinping is a fan, despite the fact that the director sometimes critiques the state in his films. The first act is fucking awesome - some guy takes revenge on his corrupt boss.

Well, it's not western MSM so much. It did well at Cannes and the NYT loved it for some reason, but most people won't have heard of it. It was funded by China, but then they hampered it's release and distribution because it was a bit edgy for their liking.

Anyway, I thought you just wanted some variety and escape from shit western media that's mostly comprised of sequels, requels and prequels.

I've been reading a lot recently. If you know where to look you can find some really good more fulfilling books. Honestly, can't reccomend enough.

Gonna always recommend Ursula Le Guin's The Dispossessed to any leftist looking to read a good (anarchist) book to read

Also Takiji Kobayashi's The Crab Cannery Ship if you want some good proletarian stories

The culture series by Iain M Banks is dope as hell, it's set in a highly advanced society with fully automated luxury gay space communism. I find it's a good complement to Ursula Le Guin's sci Fi series The Hainish Cycle.
