Oh yeah? Well I was radicalized by Trots :agony-mescaline:

        spoiler

Honestly they were nice folks tho. Very knowledgeable on theory, always showing to genuinely support protests. Clearly I got kinda lucky with that though.

it was sociology of pop culture it was dope!! after class i asked for other cool media like the “they live” clip he showed in class

that class ruled once we were discussing the idea of class distinction. basically how middle class people aren’t materially too different from working class people and upper middle class vs middle class so on so forth.

they have to distinguish themselves culturally as superior. The example he gave was PBR and how it was seen as a “hick” beer that classy craft beer drinkers or imported beer drinkers would scoff at. Then culturally as hipster absorbed it for clout raised its cultural value via irony, thus moving the bar in a sort of way. PBR was seen as middle brow rather than lowbrow and another beer will take that cultural clout of being the shit beer or whatever and so forth. the other example was wallmart vs target for PMC middle class distinction. it goes on. i wish i could be in that class forever, so many lasting lenses I still apply to situations that give me insight

The walmart vs target thing is so true lol. And its very obvious they do it on purpose if you pay attention.

Out here in the mid west, Walmart very obviousl caters to ""working class"" conservatives, selling guns, camo themed items, books by bill o'Reilly, and other conservatives

Go across the street to to target and you can see how the target libs with their pro-BLM slogans on social media, selling "White Fragility" and that book by Coumo lol. So funny to think about how their business model is other wise almost identical
