    tbf that's what "person of the year" is about. it's literally supposed to be, by their own admission, whoever is biggest / most recognizable that year. on election years it's always the us president-elect. it was bush in 2000 and 2004, obama in 2008 and 2012, trump in 2016, etc

      Maybe if it was any other year but 2020, but you honestly can’t tell me with a straight face that Joe Biden dominated the news and affected people’s thoughts and lives more than COVID this year
