    Seriously after this and the Shadid scandal the American left has serious problems with vetting candidates

      Who would vet them? There's no party structure. The DSA is the closest thing and they don't want to fucking touch that because they have their own internal problems with discipline and no ideological consistency as an org anyway.

        Exactly. I thought this sub learned its lesson with Bernie. This should just be another nail in that coffin. If you want candidates to run make sure they have the seal of approval and are running on the ticket of an actual socialist party like PSL. They might not win but at least you wouldn't get grifted and your money even if the candidate fails to win would go towards raising awareness of a socialist party and platform.
