You know a resource I used in the Bernie campaign as an international texter (harm reduction ML gang) was the wee thing that gave you a list of easily searchable frequently asked questions by topic and suggested responses with facts and figures. It even had specific lines of argument and resources for arguing with people of specific ideologies, backgrounds or with single issue concerns.

Wonderful resource because I know from experience when you start out organising and someone hits with a gotcha and you can't answer it's so demoralising and embarrassing.

I often think I know lots of friends with academic backgrounds (including myself) who would love to contribute some of the illuminating knowledge of their particular field to such a resource

    Sincerely,

    DBTraven

generally during times of economic crisis people revert to their natural socialist instincts, usually only temporarily. our goal is to poison them for the rest of their lives with the debilitating knowledge of how fucked they are

i mean yeah when i was a kid (like 9) id constantly shit on korean war veterans and be like 'why did you go fight a war on the other side of the planet if no one was in the army there'd be no war! murder is evil!'

my parents definitely didnt instill those values in me lmfao and i never interacted with the news

Lol just wait it out. Anyone (without capital) who doesn’t kill themselves within the next year will be a commie soon enough as the world burns around them.

im getting my sister closer. she asked me "so what would something like 'target' look like under socialism? would it be like sweden?" and i said something along the lines of "no it will look like cuba probably" and my dad got mad at me. a year ago she was a warren lib though.

Lib whispering is a particular kind of skill honestly. It doesn't come naturally to everyone and it takes patience and approaching conversations with good faith.

Converting libs seems like one of the hardest things to do. Out of all of the pro-capitalist factions, libs are the ones who remain most convinced that the institutions are justified and good - that they are only failing due to poor leadership. Fuck libertarians and conservatives, but they at least understand the system is a scam, and if you can manage to convince them who is actually scamming them, they can be turned around. But the libs? Most of them are willing to go down with the ship on principle.

That said, I am a former lib. Learning enough history is what did the trick for me.

    1. Dress up as a neo nazi, kkk, proud boy or other fascist.
    2. Burn their house down and destroy everything they own, maybe even kill a family member (depends on how lib they are)
    3. Shout very loudly: "trumps america made me do this".

Also helps if its a blood moon for the spell to take.

      trumps america

that sounds like it could work great, but that bit specifically gives it a chance to backfire and convert them to a Super Lib. be careful.

I've been slowly doing this with my parents during quarantine and it's been really rewarding to witness in real time.

    Recruit teenagers.

Eventually it will spread to 60 year old grandmas.
