I feel the same way about spiders as homophobes claim to feel about gay people: I don't hate them, but I also don't want to ever be reminded that they exist
and what they really mean is that they've been taught by their culture to dislike something that has always existed in close proximity to them, does not cause harm, and is arguably beneficial to society.
i hope cleveland baseball team goes back to being the cleveland spiders
