Serious question. I'm vaguely familiar with him as a political commentator on the left, but the more I see of the guy, the more I think he's just a liberal.

Horrible take, but it's also 12 years old.

It isn't until you hit your mid 60s that everything truly makes sense. That's why the Senate has a cumulative age older than the sun.

Today's millennial youths still crying 'GeRoNtOcRaCy!', no appreciation for how long it takes for vampire lords to master their powers

I didn't think I'd have to say it explicitly: people's beliefs change. This could be like looking at a Peter Daou tweet from 2016.

Has he said anything recently that indicates he still believes this?

He lived through the Reagan years, then defended him in the name of anti communism, so that's pretty fuckin absurd. Most of what i find about Cornel and socialism is about Democratic Socialism, which is still on the liberal side. Democratic socialism seeks to reform capitalism, which isn't possible.

Article from 3 years ago: "Now, I think with Biden what you have is someone who can stop the quick move toward American fascism."

So yea, he's still a lib. Also in that article he sure does like to add the word "predatory" to the word capitalism, indicating he thinks there is a non-predatory version of capitalism(there isn't.) He's like Bernie at best. But Bernie didn't ever fucking praise Reagan AFAIK.

Social democracy seeks the reform of capitalism, demsoc seeks to reform capitalism into socialism. Both are counterrevolutionary and historically side with fascists against communists.

Since I already provided this tweet in which he's on record praising Reagan, how about you go ahead and provide the evidence where he disavowed this view

in the last couple years he coauthored a WSJ oped supporting desantis's education reforms because he's on the board of some hertiage ghoul's private education grift that benefited from those reforms
