I can't get on board with Communism unless there's some dialogue for spiritual development. Just feels like, "here's your job, here's your tasks, here's some bare minimum necessities, be content with what we give you, and your servitude demands that you don't question anything the authority dictates."

This is a very propagandized view of communism -- e.g., "communism is when you don't get blue jeans or rock music." That's not really what communism was or is in practice (and this is setting aside what counts as "communism in practice"), and it also doesn't get at how a wealthy socialist state in 2030 might look different from a poor socialist state in 1930.
Some attachment to ephemera. The utopian ideal posits a soulless existence. I guess I just don't see the point of developing a palate if soylent green is the only thing on the menu.
