dsa is large enough that we have a handful of paid national positions for full time work involving overall organizational work. all the chapters are volunteer run tho

idk im just skeptical of paid organizing work. its like being a manager. lots of sitting around in a kushy job.

I feel pretty safe in saying that the job is neither cushy nor pays well. It's probably not even full time

idk look at those staff benefits

            Health is important

One of our priority campaigns is to fight for Medicare for All. Staff have fully paid health, dental, and vision insurance for themselves and their spouse/partner and/or dependent children.

            Work/Life Balance

Staff are encouraged to use all vacation time because we work hard the rest of the time. We offer 3 weeks vacation in the first year and 4 weeks after that, plus personal days and sick leave.

            Starting a family

As socialist feminists, we believe staff have the right to take fully paid parental leave. Therefore we offer 10 weeks of fully paid parental leave in 2019. This will increase to 12 weeks in 2020.

            Investing in Staff Development

We believe that everyone has the capacity to learn and grow. We hold regular staff retreats to strategize and collectively find ways to improve our support for member organizing. Staff members are also provided a yearly stipend for professional development resources.

            An engaged workplace

DSA staff are proud union members of CWA Washington–Baltimore News Guild. We believe strongly in the right for staff to share their opinions and have ownership over the work that they do.

God that's awful. Boycotting the DSA for treating workers with respect

no, im saying that why are these organizers hired while there are many hundreds of organizers that arent? this is a common thing in socialist organizations to avoid rot. IWW and even Communist newspapers come to mind. at least the ones i know of in eastern europe, that is.

Not really sure what the IWW does (not that the DSA is any better) anymore but the idea is that you pay people so they can be focused on the DSA. I really don't see how that is bad thing. We still live under capitalism, people need momey

I'm sure people's material conditions will improve if you just tell them to read Lenin and discourage any kind of activism or organization
