this has gotten weird really fast

It's also mildly disturbing how people are just... trusting this tiny group of people are actually just purging transphobes and not also chucking in people they don't like

Don't get me wrong, i think the admins seem pretty cool but the lack of real transparency rubs me the wrong way

I don't fucking know, im hammered ignore me

This post absolutely should not be included, to quote myself "What? Cis people ask too many fucking questions. Let me live my life in peace, please, jesus." -WetAssPossum. I downvoted that post, and I stand by my downvote. It's a bad post that encourages cis people to be shitty and annoying.

Yeah am I gonna get got because I downvoted hornyposting because some horny posting is of non-cis origination?

I also saw a ban for reactionary voting. Pretty worried about the mods finding out I voted for Hildawg in 2016

Beatnik posted the complete list of monitored posts in one of the threads on c/userunion asking for transparency, and none of the Cyberpunk posts were included.

Hell I almost never upvote/downvote posts and of those that I do probably more than 50% are due to misclicks because I only check chapo on my phone

Hey I was reincarnated from the great posting beyond.

Thanks for sticking up for me. I've been a WTYP fan from day 1. Alice is funny and her bits have definitely influenced my posting. I'm pretty sure I got banned because I put the "struggle" in struggle session when neopronouns happened and never bothered to undo downvotes. I'm undoing them now. Special thanks to @the_river_cass for sticking up for me and showing unconditional solidarity. After this I truly do love my trans comrades. :cat-trans:

I've seen his account make trans-positive posts before, like unprompted standalone posts just to say that trans folks are valid, iirc. Seems kinda weird, though I can't see his voting history like admins can.

Eh, i'm in a few discord servers with people from here, so it kinda would
Though i'm pretty sure most of them would believe me over the lemmy mods
Especially seeing as a fair few of the people i talk to on there are trans and know i'm not a peice of shit... hopefully

It's easy to say that when you're not the one being publicly accused of transphobia. I lost friends today because I was falsely accused.

This is like my fifth account, haha. I've never been banned, but I keep forgetting my password. and I don't want to add an email because opsec. so I can confidently say it's not a huge deal.

But it would kind of hurt my feelings if I ever got banned. Especially if I were accused of something like transphobia. So I do get people's concerns. I think the key is just to recognize that, some good people might get caught in the banwave, and if you aren't a reactionary/transphobe, then just know it wasn't personal and you shouldn't feel ashamed. But a strong display of support like this is important and helps our trans comrades feel safe.

A small group of people with a huge amount of control and lack of transparency. What could go wrong?!

yeah it seems like a bad idea. banning people for posts is fine because everyone can see the post. but only mods have access to the downvote 'records' so they can just ban whoever and say 'it was the downvotes!'

and i hope im not being too aggressive when i say i dont really trust the mod team right now with that kinda power. i've argued with mods and admins on here a couple times, they can be just as pigheaded and petty as any other poster.

Someone with non-binary pronouns got banned, ( @CountryRoads ). I didn't see anything transphobic in their post history and they didn't really give me any indication of being a plant other than being a somewhat new account.
