Reminder that there are the same microplastics in the deepest parts of the Earth and at its highest points. You could take a glass of seawater from anywhere on Earth and it'd be full of the same microplastics. It's everywhere inside our bodies, too. It causes brain damage in fish. We did all that, and much more.

It's baffling just how thoroughly plastics have contaminated every inch of this fucking earth. It's genuinely impossible to wrap my head around it. We've had this shit for under 2 centuries, and now the planet we've been living on for hundreds of thousands of years is covered in it. it is inside everything.
People are working on figuring out how to deal with the plastic problem. We need to fund that and not coup Venezuela
