Picrews be like yeah omg acab dxde but as soon as you say bi lesbians are a thing you have a swat team at your door. Tumblr and it’s consequences have been a disaster for the human race
many online leftists don't give a shit about actual systemic issues they just wanna quote tweet people and say "yikes"
they're just in it for their perceived moral highground, they don't really believe in anything
5G is real,
imagine being so brainwashed by neoliberalism that you feel the need to say this lol
I think OP means tumblr users that have avatars made with Picrew
Mostly Twitter users actually, the only reason I mentioned tumblr is because Twitter seems to slowly be morphing into it as more and more teenagers start getting involved in The Discourse
What are we talking about again?
These last few days have made me feel like a boomer, I have no clue what half of the posts I see are talking about, how online is online enough?
Lol
I learned to argue on Tumblr from like age 14 - 17, engaged in mortal combat with other teenagers about Steven Universe characters and fictionkin or whatever.
But other parts of Tumblr did legitimately push me leftward. Living in a relatively rural area, I didn't even really know any liberals, let alone leftists. So seeing outspoken communists on Tumblr really made me feel some kind of (good) way.
I wouldn't be a leftist today if not for tumblr. Not only was it my initial education on social issues, I also met communists for the first time and came to refer to myself as one because those people normalized it for me.
Or homoromantic bisexual femme, but yeah, thats the main reason people identify this way.
Wait is this about merrick or the teens going after Molly Conger or something else entirely, I can't tell
yeah stop tagging me in anarchist posts, they aren’t going to do anything nerds
some people want lesbian to be a label that includes all WLW identities
not a WLW myself, but as a bi/pan guy I can feel where they're coming from
I'll often identify as gay in situations where my attraction to men is what's relevant, but I don't want to bother explaining how I'm pansexual or NB-inclusive bisexual or whatever
we are also subject to much of the same homophobia, it doesn't matter to most homophobes whether you're also attracted to the opposite gender, but on the other hand it is easier for us to have relationships that pass socially in a heteronormative culture
there are many lesbians and gay men who believe these labels should only apply to exclusively homosexual people, and I'm sympathetic to their desire for exclusively homosexual spaces
so I'm a bit conflicted about it
